What I Got For My 15th Birthday!

Hey!
Today I am off school. My last blog post was a 'Jabber' post saying I was ill well, as I am still ill, today I had the day off. So I thought I would take this chance to do my 'What I Got For My 15th Birthday' post.
Before I start this post there are just a couple of things I want to say.
The 1st thing I want to say is that I am not in any way, shape or form trying to brag. I am extremely grateful for EVERYTHING I got and I don't want this post to be seen as a way for me to brag about what I got.
The 2nd thing I want to say is that in this post I am just going to be 'showing' you what my parents got me. I feel like if I show you everything that everyone got me this post will be longer than I want it to be. Most of my other family (aunties, uncles, grand parents ect.) and family friends gave me money and I have already spent some of that. My friends all got me lovely gifts so I am going to quickly write out what each of them got me (I am not putting pictures of what they got me as I can't find pictures and can't get hold of a camera at the moment):

-Holly: Chocolate.
-Emma: Chocolate.
-Evie: Bracelets from Next.
-Lucy: Blue Quote Plaque for my bedroom.
-Wioleta: Nail varnishes (17 Fast Finish nail polish in Pink Lemonade, Collection Hot Looks 60 Seconds nail
polish in No.29 Big Hair and Collection Hot Looks 60 Seconds nail polish in No.56 Electric Dreams) and
    chocolate
-Aimee: Claire's Cosmetics Make-up set, Claire's Cosmetics Eye Dusts and a make up bag.
-Hannah: Baylis & Harding England Skin Spa Body Indulgence Cube.

Now that I have gone over that lets get into 'What I Got For My 15th Birthday':

Jess's Jabbers- Sick Day!

So I am sick.
Headaches, sore throat , blocked nose, coughing, cold chills, temperature- you name it, I've got it. The problem with me being sick (aside from the obvious) is that I don't really like sleeping. Don't get me wrong I do like going to sleep of a night but, once I am up, I don't like going back to sleep/bed. The thing is when I sleep through the day I end up waking up feeling 3 times worse than I did when I went to sleep. This is a problem because sleeping is meant to help fight off sickness. It lets your body focus on fighting off the bug rather than focusing on your movement or whatever (correct me on this if I am wrong, this is just what my parents/teachers have always told me). Because of this, in my opinion, I am always being sick for a lot longer than other people.
This is the first day of me being sick so basically I have been sat indoors, watching movies and drinking a lot of 'Beechams Cold and Flu Sachets in Hot Lemon'.
What are your favourite things to do when your sick?

Jess's Jabbers- 15th Birthday!

Hey!
So today is my 15th birthday. Happy Birthday To Me, Happy Birthday To Me!
All in all I had a good day. I was spoilt by both my friends and my family, I am very thankful for this. I got up early, opened presents, ate chocolate and messed around with my presents. Then I went to school and was spoilt with yet more presents and spent a lovely day with 'the girls'. And then, tonight, I went out for a lovely meal with my close family and friends. I am now sat here, with my PJ's on and my hair washed, and I am reflecting on the day.
Towards the end of the night I became what some people might call 'depressed'. I was not depressed at all. After long, exciting days I tend to become very sleepy very suddenly. And, as I am naturally energetic and full-of-life, people tend to mistake this as 'depression'. I am not feeling as sleepy now but I do plan on having an early night.
The plan for the rest of the night looks like this: watch PLL (Pretty Little Liars) and then sleep. Not the most exciting plan but one I am most definitely looking forward to.
But, as my dad says, my birthday is not over yet. On Saturday I am going on a birthday shopping trip with my family and one of my best friends, Lucy. I am really looking forward to it and have started coming up with a list of what I want to buy in my head.
As for blog posts, I do plan on doing a 'What I Got For My 15th Birthday' post and maybe a 'Birthday Haul'  to show you the things I got on my birthday shopping trip, we will just have to wait and see.

Jess's Views: No7 Heated Eyelash Curler!

Hey!
In my stocking this Christmas one of the lovely gifts I got was the No7 Heated Eyelash Curler. When I got it I was so exited because I had really wanted to try out a heated eyelash curler and getting one for Christmas meant I could try one out for free. Heated eyelash curlers were a bit of a must have for me. My eyelashes are very straight and the regular eyelash curlers were just not doing as good a job as I wanted them to.
No7 Heated Eyelash Curler-£10 from Boots
When I tried the No7 Heated Eyelash Curler out on Christmas day I fell in love. It gave my eyelashes a natural looking curl while making them look long and defined. I loved the slick packaging, the long comb and how easy to use the product was. I loved how quickly it heated up and how, if you held your hand over the comb while it was heating up, you could feel the heat coming off it.
After I used it everyday for about a week, I noticed that the roots of my eyelashes were really sensitive and almost painful. I assumed that this was because I was putting the eyelash curler to close to my eye but, after a few more days of using it starting at the middle of my eyelashes, the sensitivity at the roots just did not go away. So I stopped using it.
Its been about 2 weeks since I last used it so, this morning, I used it again before applying my mascara. My eyelashes are no longer sensitive but I won't be using it everyday again. I think I will start to use it about once a week or so.
Overall, I really love the way the No7 Heated Eyelash curler works and looks and, if this was just based on those things, it would easily get 5 stars out of 5. But, because of the way my eyelashes reacted to it, I can only give it 3 stars out of 5.

Top Tips For Clearing Out Your Nail Polishes!

Hey!
Today I was extremely bored so I started going through and re-arranging my nail varnish collection. After I had finished I found out that I have thrown out about half of my collection. I was sat there, stunned, trying to work out how I had done such a thing. I worked out that I had made the choice on what was staying and what was not through a kind of 'check list'. This post is going to be that 'check list'.

Top Tips For Clearing Out Your Nail Polish Collection:

1.Work out how long you have had the nail polish. If its over 2 years old, it probably needs throwing away.

2.Look at the nail polish. If the packaging is dirty and broken or the nail polish is watery and has separated,
   put it in the bin.

3.Look a the colour. Do you ever wear that colour? Do you even like that colour? If you answer any one of
these questions with the word 'no' but you think its in good condition and is still usable, put it in a 'give
away' pile (we will come back to this later).

4.Compare it to the other nail polishes that your keeping. If it looks extremely similar to another nail polish
your keeping, pick your favourite and only keep one. Maybe the other one could go in the 'give away'
   pile?

5.Look at your storage space. If you only have a small box, only keep what can fit in the small box. Be
   realistic.

6.Give some away to your friends and family. This is where that 'give away' pile comes in. Take all the nail
polishes that are in good condition but you never use or don't want anymore and give them to people who
will use and want them. Think of it as 'spreading the love'.

And that is it. They are my 'Top Tips For Clearing Out Your Nail Polishes'. If you liked this post please take a moment to follow this blog. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will speak to you all soon.

My Top 5 Favourite Healthy Snacks!

Hey!
So, when the new year started, I made a new years resolution that I would get 'healthy' and 'lose weight' (pretty much everyone has made this resolution before, me included). Well, naturally, this new years resolution did not start till the 5th of January but we are going to over look the fact that I started this resolution 5 days late, okay?
Since I want to get 'healthy' and ultimately 'lose weight', I have to eat healthy. I am not gonna lie, I do really like unhealthy foods (cheese, chocolate ect.). Don't get me wrong, I do really like healthy foods too (fruits, veg ect.) but I have a massive sweet tooth which is a big issue when I try to 'diet' and eat 'healthy'.

VS

After surviving 5 days eating 'high' amounts of healthy food and 'low' amounts of unhealthy food, I have become an 'expert' on healthy snacks (obviously I am not an expert, just saying that as a little disclaimer). I thought I would share some of my 'healthy' snacks with you, my readers, so that if you ever want a 'healthy' snack you will have some ideas of things you can have.

Jess's Top 5 Favourite Healthy Snacks:

1. Low fat yogurts (really nice with cereal and chopped up fruits).

2.Fruits (some of my favourites are bananas, apples, strawberries and blueberry's).

3.Chopped up veg (some of my favourites are chopped peppers, carrots and cucumber).

4.Low fat rice cakes (plain or with a topping like low fat cream cheese).

5.Fruit or low fat cereal bars (really nice to keep you full throughout the day).

-EXTRA TIP: Drink lots of water through the day. Water fills you up and will help stop you feeling hungry.
Drink lots throughout the day and 1-2 glasses before every meal.

There they are, my top 5 favourite healthy snacks. If you have any other good healthy snacks I would love for you to leave them in the comments. If you liked this post please take a moment to follow this blog. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will speak to you all soon.

Hey!
January is one of the best months of the year for me. Its my birthday in on January 23rd and that means the month is filled with excitement. At the start of January, I chuck myself in to the 'New Year, New Me' thing. Then, after the novelty of that has worn off, I start making plans for my birthday. Once I have done that, I spend the rest of the time before my birthday looking forward to/thinking about my birthday. After my birthday (the last week or so in January), I go on shopping trips and things. As you can see January is a very good month for me and always goes by very quickly (which is a shame a lot of the time).
So, as it is the start of a new month its time to find out the top ten things I think you should do in the month of January.

2013 Jar Of Memories And Happiness!

Hey, happy 2013!
So I was looking through my social networks and I found a picture which holds an amazing idea.

This picture has been being spread over social networks for a while and a lot of people are talking about it. Personally, I think its an brilliant idea. I do not have a jar so, instead, I am using the tub that I got some Nivea lip balms in. I think you could use anything for this: a box, a bowl, a tin, a jar. I think this is a really good idea because you could look at it anytime your in need of a bit of happiness, not just on New Years Eve. You can put pretty much anything in your jar that reminds you of a happy time or good memory. I will definitely be giving this idea a whirl this year, will you?
