The Get To Know Me Tag!

Hey, so today I thought I would do the Get To Know Me tag. I was not tagged by anyone but I decided to do this tag because I have only just started my blog and thought this would be a good way for the people who read my blog to get to know me more. The questions in the tag are split up into 7 categories: Vital Stats, Appearance, First's, Favourite's, Currently, Future and Do You Believe In. I hope you like this post even though its not beauty related. So, without further ado, lets get on to the tag:

Vital Stats-

-Name: My name is Jessica.

-Nicknames: My friends, teachers, ect. call me Jess, so I guess that is my current nickname
but when I was younger my dad always used to call me Jessica-Loolabell and
he still calls me that a lot now . So, I guess I have two nicknames.
-Birthday: My Birthday is the 23rd of January 1998.
-Place Of Birth: I was born in the Lancaster Royal Infirmary as its the closest hospital to
                            where I live.
-Star Sign: My star sign is Aquarius.
-Occupation: I am in high school so I guess my official title says that I am a student but I
want my feature occupation to either be a primary school teacher, a worker at
a children's care home or a youth worker. If you can't already tell I want to
                        work with kids.

Appearance-

-Hair Colour: My hair colour is blonde. I am naturally blonde and have only ever dyed my

hair once. The summer just gone (summer of 2012), I dip-dyed my hair a
blue/green colour but the colour faded very quickly so I got the bit that was
dyed cut off. My current picture for this blog is me with dip-dyed hair. I plan
on dip-dyeing my hair pink next summer (summer of 2013) but until then I
will stay blonde. I have never dyed all my hair as I like my hair blonde but I
do, sometimes, use hair products that work with heat to lighten your hair.
-Hair Length: My hair ends just past my boob's at the moment so I guess my hair is kinda
                         long. I don't really know.
-Eye Colour: I have green eyes.
-Best Feature: I think my best feature is either my hair, eyes or teeth as I had a lot of work
                           on my teeth.
-Braces: I have had braces. I had braces for 5 years and in that time I had 1 operation and 8
teeth taken out. My brace experience was a very long and painful process but it was
worth it. I would love to do a post about my brace experience so look for that
coming up in the feature. My brace story is not finished yet but, at the moment, I
wear a retainer 3 nights a week, just to make sure my teeth do not move.
-Piercings: I have my ear lobes pierced once. 2 years ago I did get the top of my ear pierced
but I had a lot of problems with it and it healed over. I do want to get more
                    piercings in the feature.
-Tattoos: I don't have any tattoos as I am underage and its illegal to get them done under
the age of 16 in the UK. I, personally, do like tattoos and would like to get them in
the feature. I would like one for my 16th birthday (because, in the UK, you can get
tattoos between the age of 16-18 with your parent/guardian's permission) but my
parents don't like tattoos so they wouldn't give their consent. So, I will have to wait
till I am 18+ to get tattoos.
-Righty Or Lefty: I think this means what hand I write with. I am right handed so I am a
                               righty.

Firsts-

-Best Friend: My 1st best friend was a girl called Charlotte (at the time we all called her

Lottie) and I went to nursery (kindergarten) with her. Her brother and my
brother were best friends in nursery as well and she is the cousin of the girl I
was best friends with throughout primary school. I still know her now. She is in
my year, at my school and I am still really good friends with her but no one
                        calls her Lottie any more.
-Award: I can't remember my first ever award but my earliest memory of me ever getting a
award was for something like being helpful in year 1.
-Sport: My first ever sport that I did was dance when I was about 7.
-Real Holiday: My first ever real holiday was to Disney Land Paris when I was about 6 or 7.
-Concert: My first ever concert was a concert a local radio station ran with some pop stars
                 when I was about 11 or 12.

Favourites-

-Film: I have a lot of favourite films. Some of my favourites include: Grease, Coyote Ugly,

Mean Girls, Up,  Tangled, Dirty Dancing, Hairspray, Paul, Mama Mia, Dear John, The
Notebook, Despicable Me, The Pacifier, Titanic, The Hunger Games and The
Inbetweeners Movie. I have lots more favourites but that gives you an idea of the
type of films I like. Mostly I like chick flicks, comedy's and romantic comedy's. I am
not a big fan of horror or action films.
-TV Show: I only have a few favourite TV shows. My favourite TV shows are: Pretty Little
Liars, Waterloo Road, Miranda, Ashes To Ashes, Life On Mars, Pushing Daisies,
Skins, Shameless, Would I Lie To You, Not Going Out, Gavin And Stacey, The
Royle Family And Russell Howards Good News.
-Colour: My favourite colour is 'Tiffany Blue'.
-Song: My favourite song changes all the time so I am going to do my favourite songs from
my childhood and my  favourites at the moment. My favourites from my childhood
were: Reach For The Stars By S Club 7, Whole Again By Atomic Kitten and Eternal
Flame By Atomic Kitten. At the moment my favourite songs are: RED By Taylor Swift,
I Knew You Were Trouble By Taylor Swift, Hall Of Fame By The Script And Will.I.Am
          and Die Young By Ke$ha.
-Restaurant: I don't think you know this but I am a vegetarian (have been for 1 year and 5
months) so when I go out to eat I can only go to places that have vegetarian
options. So my favourite restaurant is not actually a restaurant, its a cafe in my
                         town called 'Erics Cafe'.
-Store: My favourite store is Lush. I have only ever been to Lush once, as the nearest one to
where I live is like a half an hour to an hour drive away from my local town, but they
it was amazing in their, I LOVED IT. They are meant to be getting on a bit closer to
where I live though so I should be able to make more trips to Lush.
-Book: My favourite book is a book called 'Driftwood' By Cathy Cassidy. I love the story, I
love the way its wrote and it has a lot of important messages in it.
-Magazine: I don't buy magazines very often but if I had to pick one I would say my
                     favourite is 'Glamour' magazine.
-Shoes: My favourite pair of shoes are my Converse. They are white with the word love all
over them in different styles of writing. They have Baby/Tiffany blue detailing on
them and I love them to death.

Currently-

-Feeling: Happy.

-Single Or Taken: Single.
-Eating: Nothing.
-Listening To: Die Young By Ke$ah
-Thinking About: Getting this done and going to bed.
-Watching: Nothing.
-Wearing: Jeggings and a 'Burgundy' vest top.

Future-

-Want Children: Yes, I want children. I love the image of a big family. So like 6 or 7 kids.

                             Maybe more.
- Want To Be Married: Yes, I do want to get married.
-Careers In Mind: Either a primary school teacher, worker at a children's care home or a
youth worker. Basically, I want to work with children and teenagers.
-Where Do You Want To Live: I would LOVE to live somewhere in the USA in the future.

Do You Believe In...-

-God: Yes and no, I am not 100% sure what I believe in faith wise yet.

-Miracles: Yes, I do believe in miracles but I think I believe in the idea of miracles rather
                   than them actually happening.
-Love At First Sight: No, I like the idea of 'Love At First Sight' but I don't think you can be in
love with someone just from looking at them. I believe it takes a lot
more than physical appearance to be in love with someone.
-Ghosts: Yes and no. Part of my thinks when your dead your dead, you don't go to a world
(at least not our world anyway), but then part of me wonders if our soul and
presents lingers around the places that have the most meaning to us, good and bad
                meanings.
-Aliens: Yes, I believe in aliens. I don't believe the universe is that big and we are the only
intelligent species there is. I think they are alien life forms to be found and we just
              have not found them yet.
-Soul Mates: Kind of. I think there is 1 or more people out there that are perfect for each
person but I don't know if I believe that makes people have soul mates.
-Heaven: Yes. After having family member's and close family friends pass away, I do believe
that they go  somewhere. I don't like the thought of their soul dying and their body
                  rotting away.
-Hell: No. I believe in karma but I don't think there is a place where people go to suffer for
          eternity.
-Kissing On A First Date: Yes and no. I think it depends on the situation and how long you
                                             have known the person.
-Yourself: Yes. I believe in everything I do and I believe in who I am. If I did not believe in
those then I would not do the things I do or be who I am.

My Make-Up Collection #1 - Concealer, Foundation, Tinted Moisturizer And Powder!

Hey, so today I thought I would start my make-up collection series. Over the next couple of months I plan on showing you my entire make-up collection. From foundation to lip gloss, from eye shadow to blusher, you will see every part of my make-up collection. I just thought I would say, before we start, all my make-up has either been given to me as a present or I have bought it myself. So lets get cracking shall we?

For the first part of my make-up collection I thought I would start with concealer, foundation, tinted moisturizer and powder.

Concealer. A must have for me and any girl suffering from acne, acne scaring, dark under eye circles and redness. If you asked me to pick my 'make-up must haves' one of them would be concealer (the others would be powder, mascara, white eyeliner and tinted lip balm, in case your wondering). I own 1 depoted concealer (which I can't remember the name of, sorry), 1 stick concealer (Miss Sporty cover stick in shade 2) and the W7 camouflage kit palette (which has 5 concealers in it, all in different skin coloured shades). On a day-to-day basis I use the Miss Sport cover stick the most, only using the camouflage kit and depoted concealer on occasion. I do this because I find the Miss Sporty cover stick takes the least time to apply and is the easiest to use and blend. The W7 palette and the depoted concealer take longer to apply and blend in my opinion. I tend to use the Miss Sporty cover stick on a regular day and add the W7 palette or depoted concealer on days when I feel I need more coverage in certain areas.

Foundation and tinted moisturizer. Although I would not class these as 2 of my 'make-up must haves', I do think wearing foundation and tinted moisturizer is very important for me.I won't lie and I am not ashamed to admit that I do have acne and acne scaring. Foundation and tinted moisturizer give my whole face a semi-flawless look, where as concealer only gives certain areas of my face a semi-flawless look. No, I don't wear foundation or tinted moisturizer every day that I wear make-up, but the days that I have it on, I will admit, I do feel more confident in my skin and the way it looks. Just knowing that I have on that extra little bit of protection that foundation or tinted moisturizer gives you, makes me feel more confident. I have 2 foundations and 1 tinted moisturizer. My 2 foundations are the 17 Skin Perfecting Shine Free Foundation with SPF 12 in the shade 'Soft Ivory' and the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation in shade 81 'Tender Ivory'. The tinted moisturizer I own is the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Tinted Moisturising Day Cream in the shade  'Natural'. The 17 and the Bourjois foundations are in, pretty much, my shade but the Nivea Visage tinted moisturizer is a little dark as it only comes in 1 shade. To make the tinted moisturizer lighter I just mix it with my normal, every day moisturizer and this makes it more my shade.  Depending on the weather and how I am feeling that day will depend on whether or not I wear foundation/tinted moisturizer and, if I decide to wear it, what foundation/tinted moisturizer I wear. If my skin is seriously oily that day, I tend to reach for the Bourjois Mineral Matte Mousse Foundation. If I want medium coverage and I am only a little bit oily, I tend to reach for the 17 Skin Perfecting Shine Free Foundation. If I want light coverage that day and my acne and skin is pretty good, I tend to go for the Nivea Visage Daily Essentials Tinted Moisturising Day Cream.

Powder. As a girl with oily skin, powder is a 'make-up must have' for me. Personally, I am a fan of the matte look because if I try to go for anything else, I end up looking like a oily mess. I only own one powder and that powder is the Collection 2000 Pressed Powder in shade 3 'Translucent'. First of all, its not translucent at all. It has a colour to it no matter what the shade name says. I like this because it is cheap (£1.99), lasts a decent amount time and, basically, does the job. Although I like this product and repurchase it all the time, I would really like to try the Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder. Lots of people seem to really like that powder and, as its fairly cheap, I would like to try it for myself and see if I like it too. As for the Collection 2000 powder, I would say if your looking for a cheap powder, which gives you decent coverage and lasts a decent amount of time, buy this. I would also say to keep in mind that they don't come in a wide range of shades and you might end up getting a shade that is a little bit to dark or light for you. All in all, I like this powder as it is cheap and does what I want it to do but I would like to try different, more expensive powders to see what works the best for me and my skin type.

(The powder is normally pressed but I am clumsy and
dropped it on the floor and it smashed)

So, that is it for the first part of my make-up collection. Please follow my blog if you like/liked any of my posts as I would really like to start making a lot more posts. I hoped you enjoyed this post and I will talk to you all next time.

Mini Haul #1

Hey! So today I went shopping and picked up a few bits and bobs from B&M's. This post is going to be about what I picked up.

The first thing I picked up was some 'Snuggle Socks'. Autumn has started, winter is coming and is it just me or is the best thing in the world (in these seasons) snuggling up in front of the fire, wearing thick/snug clothes with a hot drink? I think it is. So, in preparation for those cold autumn/winter nights, I picked up 3 pairs of snuggle socks and I got an amazing deal. 3 for £2. And they had pink. Best deal ever!

Next, I picked up some toothpaste. I know, kinda boring but a necessity no matter who you are. Personally I like toothpaste's that have whitening products in them. Who doesn't love a clean, white smile? No one I know anyway. So I picked up the Colgate Icy Blast Whitening 2 in 1 toothpaste and mouthwash. Beautiful white smile here I come.

The last 3 things I picked up were all Rimmel London products. I love finding amazing deals on things and I found 3 that I could not miss out on.

Lip gloss. I own to much lip gloss. The shiny packaging, the pretty shades, what girl can resist? Not me that's for sure. What can I say? The deal was just to good to miss. A Rimmel London Stay Glossy lip gloss for £1.99 when in drugstores they are being sold for £6.29. I had to have it. Plus the I don't own any lip glosses like it. The shade: 710 Diamond Dust. A nude/brown lip gloss with silver glitter/shimmer sprinkled through it. I think the shade has been discontinued as I can't find that shade anywhere. But I am not 100% sure. Anyway, the shade is amazing and if you happen to be walking past a B&M's anytime soon you should go and pick it up while it's still there. Trust me, you will only regret it if you don't.

The next two things are Colour Rush eye shadow trio's. I don't own many eye shadows that aren't in palette's so I am glad I found these two handy trio's. The first: 760 Elements. A shimmery cream colour, a shimmery grey colour and a shimmery light brown colour. The second: 624 Lynx. A shimmery white colour, a shimmery dark pink colour and a matte chocolate brown colour. The trio's look amazing and I can't wait to play around with them and create some fabulous looks. They cost £1.49 each. I know, £1.49! Bargain, right? Who can resist that kind of bargain? I had to snatch up the trio's. It would have been wrong of me not to, don't you think? They had lots of different colour trio's. Some with wild, bright colour's in. Some with nude, natural colour's in. Go grab some before they all go.

                                                    760 ELEMENTS      624 LYNX

That's it. My first mini haul all done. I hoped you enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Welcome!

Welcome to my blog, The Lancashire Beauty. I have never done anything like this before and I don't know what to say. I guess I could start by telling you a bit about me...
My names Jessica but I prefer Jess. The only people who ever call me Jessica anymore are my parents. I am 14. I live in a seaside town in the north west of England. Oh and if you have not already guessed the towns in Lancashire. I am a Lancashire girl. Born and raised here. I don't want to stay here though. I would LOVE to move to the USA one day. It probably won't ever happen. But, hey, a girl can dream, right?
I love beauty and fashion. Well not so much fashion. I am not a trends kinda girl. I like the clothes I like. It does not matter to me if they are 'in' this season or not, if I like them, I buy them. Simple as that.
I also like music and film. Well not making music or film. But I like listening to them and watching them. That counts right? While I have been writing this I have been listening to 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' by Taylor Swift on repeat. I love that song at the moment... just like most of the people I know
I am in year 10 and have just started my GCSE's (General Certificate of Secondary Education if your not familiar with what they are). For my GCSE's I took: history, french, catering and travel & tourism. On top of that I have to take: english, maths, 2 science's, religious education and citizenship.
I plan on making this a beauty and fashion blog. But I want to also post other bits and bobs on here as well. I really want to make this a hobby of mine. Lets see if I can stick to it shall we?
